MSS-707 CHG Disinfectant Swab is a type of skin preparation product that is used to reduce the risk of surgical site infections. it is made of medical grade 100PPI open-cell polyurethane foam and white polypropylene handle. It is with formulation of 2% Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic and is also bacteriostatic which means it can kill both gram-positive and gram-negative microbes even more bacteria compared with traditional Iodophor swabs and Alcohol swabs.

CHG prep swabs should not be used in the following cases:

• Patients who are allergic to chlorhexidine gluconate or isopropanol.
• Lumbar puncture or with the meninges.
• Open the skin wound or as a general skin cleanser.
• Around or around eyes, ears, and mouth.
